Annual Impact Report
The Annual Impact Report (2018/2019), released at our AGM on June 26, includes an overview of program highlights this past year, including 2018 Stats at a Glance, as well as a Message from the President of our Board of Directors and the Executive Director’s Report. Thanks to all who attended the AGM and support the work we do.
Strategic Planning
As we begin our next strategic planning cycle, we put up “engagement trees” in the Whistler and Squamish drop-in centres and the Transition House to elicit feedback on what HSWC does well and areas for improvement. Women accessing services, staff, and volunteers participated by posting their responses to questions that corresponded to different coloured leaves (strengths, opportunities, aspirations, results) on the tree, offering valuable feedback that will inform the strategic plan moving forward. We are excited to share the strategic plan in the coming months.
Rosie the RIVERters
HSWC staff participated in Zero Ceiling’s annual fundraising event, White Water Rodeo - teams were asked to create costumes and team names. HSWC’s team dressed as Rosie the Riveter.
Changes to Programming over Summer
Women’s Yoga by donation in Squamish and Whistler will be on hold over July and August. Classes will resume in the fall, with Whistler's classes (beginning September 5) start time changing to 9:00am. Thank you to the amazing yoga instructors who make this program possible!
