We thank you, Father, for the water of Baptism. In it we are buried with Christ in his death. By it we share in his resurrection. Through it we are reborn by the Holy Spirit. Therefore in joyful obedience to your Son, we bring into his fellowship those who come to him in faith, baptizing them in the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
~ Book of Common Prayer 306

  • All are welcome at Resurrection. We are a people rooted in worship, branching out into the world. If you are visiting with us today, please complete a visitor’s card so that we might better welcome you. Fellowship time follows both services in the Gathering Space.  All baptized persons are invited to receive Communion; others are invited to the altar rail for a blessing.
  • We are honored today to have Rev. Donald S. McPhail as our guest celebrant and preacher.  Father Stephen and Rev. Peggy are visiting their newborn grandson in Florida.
  • Following the worship service today, please make your way to Emmaus Hall for a Patriotic Breakfast courtesy of Domer Ridings and other talented Resurrection chefs.
  • Camp Kanuga Day Camp just around the corner - July 15-19! Resurrection is fortunate to provide 24 full scholarships for this camp, and there are several spots still available. Share the news about this wonderful camp experience with your friends, family and neighbors.  Be sure to share the church’s Facebook announcement on your own timeline so word can be spread throughout Greenwood.
  • Our next Primetimer’s Gathering will be Wednesday, July 17.  We’ll begin at 10:00 AM by participating in the Wednesday service of Holy Eucharist and Healing.  Fr. Bolle will lead a short discussion on healing in the Episcopal tradition and then we’ll head over to a nearby restaurant for lunch.  Contact Jan Puzar with any questions or concerns, janpuzar@yahoo.com. RSVP to Denise by Friday, July 12, 223-5426 or denise@episcopalgreenwood.org
  • Peaceable Kingdom VBS is coming very soon, July 29 – August 2!  Even if you cannot participate that week, there are several ways you can be involved.  Contact Elizabeth Floyd with any questions, concerns or ideas – elizabeth@episcopalgreenwood.org.
> We need books! Our VBS program is built on lessons from children’s storybooks, and we could use donations of those books to send home with the children at the end of the week.Consider purchasing one or more of these titles and donating them to VBS:Yertle the Turtle and Other Stories by Dr. Seuss; Giraffes Can’t Dance by Giles Andreae; The Sneetches and Other Stories by Dr. Seuss; We’re All Wonders by R. J. Palacio; Old Turtle and the Broken Truth by Douglas Wood; Horton Hears a Who by Dr. Seuss; The Butter Battle Book by Dr. Seuss; The Berenstain Bears and the Bully by Jan and Stan Berenstain; Strictly No Elephants by Lisa Mantchev.
> We need artists! The VBS program invites children to imagine themselves as characters in several whimsical Dr. Seuss stories. We’d like to create a Seussical wonderland in the gathering area, which requires colorful backdrops and other props. If you are the artistic sort, please consider drawing or painting some items for the setting.Elizabeth Floyd will give you the details.
> We need kids!Peaceable Kingdom can’t happen if we don’t have children to attend. If you haven’t already, sign up your children, grandchildren, cousins, friends and neighbors.A registration list and forms are on a display table in the Gathering Space, and registration forms can be obtained from our parish website as well.
  • It is not too early to seek sponsors for our Thanksgiving Day Race to be Thankful. We could use an enthusiastic, charismatic and possibly well-connected person to help obtain sponsors from area businesses and companies. If this sounds like you and you are willing to help, please contact Kim Russell at kimjer100@gmail.com or 344-8009. Compensation includes a free t shirt and a great amount of appreciation.
