HIPC Receives Certificate of Recognition from Hon. Ahmed Hussen

Newcomer Day featured a special citizenship ceremony where 35 Hamiltonians, from 19 different countries, became Canadian citizens. During the ceremony HIPC was presented with a Certificate of Recognition from Hon. Ahmed Hussen, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, "presented to organizations who have promoted the value of citizenship and offered time and energy to welcoming people who have chosen Canada as their new home." The certificate was presented by Ms. HooJung Jones, Recipient of Sovereign's Medal for Volunteers who was the presiding official of the ceremony to our HIPC Chair Jim Vanderveken. We are humbled by this honor and woud like to share it wit all our partner organizations and supporters in the community.

Newcomer Day took place on Friday June 14, 2019. The feelings of joy and unity still did not leave us. We would like to share a few photos of the occasion.
