Decades ago, I heard an arts professor say, “The world will always have artists and farmers because they don’t know when they’re licked!” We in the arts have a lot more in common with farmers than just our eternal optimism. We also have to follow seasonal cycles so that our audiences can reap the benefits of our “program cultivation.” Like the seeds that germinate unseen under the ground, we have our own quiet and out-of-sight work periods, including during the summer months.

While we have already booked our 2019-2020 artists (and if you have not already received your season brochure, please contact our office—we will make sure that you get one), there is still a great amount of work to be done to ensure that each artist has as large an audience as possible, and that all the support arrangements have been appropriately met.
