Dear SPARC Europe member,

At present, the SPARC Europe Board consists of 9 members representing Northern, Western, Eastern and Southern Europe. It is our two Nordic members whose terms come to an end. One Board Member is not able to renew due to already having run twice, and our other Nordic Board member originally intended to renew her term, who will now not be able to due to a change in position.

This means that we are now seeking a Nordic representative, and a member from the UK on our Board to tackle the challenges of the new status in Europe after Brexit.

We are also keen to have a strong Open Science (open/FAIR research data) advocate.

SPARC Europe has received the following three eligible nominees for the SPARC Europe Board election in 2019.

Please find their CVs and letters of application below to help make your decision.
  • Mr Paul Ayris, Pro-Vice-Provost (UCL Library Services), UK    CV  Cover letter
  • Mr William Nixon, Assistant Director, University of Glasgow Library, UK   CV  Cover letter
  • Dr Charlotte Wien, Professor Scholarly Communication and Head of the Department for Research and Analysis and Head of Researcher Services. The University Library of Southern Denmark    CV    Cover letter
Each member may propose 2 names.

Please make your selection and send your names to Vanessa Proudman at vproudman@sparceurope.org by Friday, 31 August 2019.

We will not be able to extend the deadline, unfortunately.

Thank you,

Angela Walseng,
SPARC Europe Communication Adviser
