Hi ReLeaf Network Member
Governor Newsom signed the 2019-2020 Budget that contains funding for several urban forestry priority programs, including:
$10 million from GGRF for Urban and Community Forestry Program through CAL FIRE
$30 million from GGRF for Urban Greening through CNRA
$60 million from GGRF for Transformative Climate Communities through SGC
$5 million in General Fund to CAL FIRE to suppress shot hole borer
$7 million for the Environmental Enhancement and Mitigation Program to support land conservation and urban forestry.
The budget also features a one-time $92.5 million allocation to CNRA from Prop 68 for multi-benefit flood projects that include, but are not limited to, stormwater capture and reuse, planning and implementation of low-impact development, restoration of urban streams and watersheds, and increasing permeable surfaces to help reduce flooding.
