Jacques Pauw, author of the runaway bestseller The President’s Keepers, gives the inside story of ‘the Republic of Gupta’ and the prospects for South Africa’s recovery. Two talks will be given at his restaurant the Red Tin Roof in Riebeek Kasteel, one on Thurday evening and another on Sunday morning.

We have added some exciting new events to the Solo Studios experience and are  repeating some of your favourite activities from last year.

A new addition to the 2019 event, and in line with the "Intimate Encounters" experience which has characterized Solo Studios since inception, Solo Kitchens invites the visitor into the personal realm of some of Riebeek Valley’s finest hosts.

A very limited number of patrons will have the opportunity to be entertained in 5 private homes for dinner on Saturday 10 August, tickets available only to Solo Studios Pass Holders. Visit the website to obtain seats at these private "Chef’s Tables".
 

Wine talks and tasting of local Swartland wines will be presented on Friday and Saturday. Separate tickets available at registration.

A small select, intimate tasting with some of the artisan wine producers from the most exciting new world wine region in the world.
 

The real highlight of the weekend is of course our 18 local artists.  Some of them shown here, working on their portfolio for this year's event.

Solo Studios is a collaboration between artists, art curators and galleries based in the Riebeek Valley, and has been created to provide an opportunity for art collectors to visit artists in their studios to view and purchase their art. Mostly private and reclusive, the artists invite the fraternity into their personal realm for a rare intimate encounter.

 

To ensure a pleasant experience for both visitors and artists, access is limited. Booking is essential to avoid disappointment.
