Message From the President:
Greetings FCDA Members!

As we wrap up a busy year and prepare for a summer of flip flops, and intermittent rainy days, I reflect on a career shift that I am in the process of making. Last year, I decided to take the next steps to becoming a school administrator. Similar to our students and clients, we too experience life changes, career shifts, epiphanies and much more!  As career professionals, it is beautiful to see that we can relate not only to the experiences of each other, but to the experiences of those whom we serve.

I am beyond excited for the opportunity to serve as your FCDA 2019-20 President. I recently returned from LDI and I am encouraged with the knowledge obtained and the opportunity to brainstorm with our experienced and innovative board. Our team is ready to hear from you, to meet the professional development needs of our FCDA membership, and to collaborate as much as possible with you and each other, while serving the membership in the great state of Florida.

I am passionate about bridging the gap between career readiness for students in the K-12 sector, individuals exploring career options and those making career changes. I desire to create an environment where all career professionals can work together to achieve our separate but very common goals.

I am thrilled and eager to start planning the events for this year with our amazing executive board. Dr. Stacy Van Horn has been my mentor for years. Although I know that I have big shoes to fill, I am excited to continue the impact that she has made within FCDA.

Whether you work with students and adults at an institution of higher learning, have a private practice, or work with students in elementary, middle, high or vocational schools, we all have one thing in common: our desire to help individuals find their way and purpose, and inspire their future. With our common goal, I am excited to take this journey with you as your 2019-2020 FCDA President, and I look forward to an exciting year ahead.

With Gratitude,
Renee Hudson
