The Buddhist Insight Network is currently seeking 4-5 additional board members with time, energy, and interest to contribute to our vision of a supportive and robust network of Insight Meditation sanghas. BIN values equity and diversity, and is interested in members with a wide range of backgrounds. This is an opportunity to reach many sanghas and serve the larger Insight movement.

Ideal candidates will have a solid grounding in the Dharma and skills in relevant areas are a plus: technology and web development, project management, fundraising, organizational development, etc. Board members are responsible for both strategy and tactical execution, contributing approximately 3-5 hours per month.

About BIN

The overarching intention of BIN, founded in 2010, is to connect and serve Insight Meditation teachers, leaders, and sanghas to support the deepening and broadening of Buddhist teachings in the West.

Current & Potential Projects

Here is a summary of the projects BIN is currently engaged in or exploring. These are open to revision based on input from new board members and the community:
 

• Online Meeting Space: Create a forum for sanghas to converse and share ideas about key topics relevant to running Dharma communities today
   
• Teacher-Student Platform: Create a searchable, online listing of Insight teachers available for 1:1 mentoring and coaching of students.
   
• InterSangha Conference: BIN sponsors this annual or biennial gathering of sanghas.  
   
• Community Resources: Build a repository of best practices for local sanghas
   
• Community Outreach: Expand our network of connected sanghas by reaching out to more communities, especially internationally
   
• Fundraising: Explore options for fundraising for the above projects, including organizational and individual membership
   
• Website Update: Update the BIN website to be more visually attractive, and support a more user-friendly experience of searching for sanghas and retreats
