Menstrual Hygiene Awareness Campaign Recap

As June comes to an end we wanted to recap this year's Menstrual Hygiene Awareness Campaign that launched on Menstrual Hygiene Day (May 28th). Thanks to the help of donors, partnerships, GGAC mentors, and supporters like you we were able to have a great campaign! Read to see our impact, pictures, and the results of our annual survey!

2019 CAMPAIGN RECAP

The theme of this year's campaign was #endperiodpoverty because of the need to raise awareness of the fact that 1 in 10 African girls misses school because of their period.

Our goal for this year was to raise money to provide 500 Nigerian girls with menstrual hygiene kits. Although we did not raise enough to meet this goal, we were still able to make a big impact. A huge THANK YOU to everyone that contributed and we are already working on plans to help us reach more girls in the future!
We provided 350 girls with sanitary kits worth about ₦ 525,000. The kits were funded through donations and our partner organization: Water Support Charity. We also held educational Menstrual Hygiene Day events at two schools: LEA Primary School Area 1, Garki and Junior Secodnary School Gbessa, Kuje.
