Summer has crept up on us, and we have been busy bees! We had DAY Programme training in Kent in April and we've also been busy doing Building Your Compass gender identity training events in Oxford, London, Bristol, Manchester, Grimsby and Chelmsford. The next DAY Programme training will be in Darlington in September:
Dates: 16th - 18th September 2019
Time: 9.30am - 4.30pm
Venue: Darlington TBC
Cost: £500 per person
As usual, this Up-DAY-te is full of resources, news articles and other content to inspire you in your work with young people. Get yourself a drink and have a read and/or a watch of them.
The Hub
After attending DAY Programme training, DAY Session Leaders get access to the DAY Hub, an online portal of videos for starting conversations with young people. Here are some of the videos we've added recently.
This video created by Gillette could be used to discuss masculinity.
This song "Samaritans" by Idles could be a good conversation starter about toxic masculinity.
This is a really helpful video for explaining white privilege.
This video from Culture Reframed is designed to help fathers talk to their sons about pornography.
This video encourages people to be active bystanders.
The creator of the DAY Programme, Natalie Collins has written a book! "Out Of Control; Couples, conflict and the capacity for change" was published in March 2019 by SPCK. You can buy Natalie's book here. If you read it and like it, please leave an Amazon review.
Talking to Children about domestic abuse
THIS resource is from AVDA, a Devon based organisation responding to domestic abuse. It is a leaflet that can be read online and is designed for parents and practitioners.
We always like hearing from DAY Session Leaders about the work you're doing and how the DAY Programme is working. Do email us to let us know how you're getting on at info@dayprogramme.org.
