Divine Appointment

Divine appointments happen! Ashley is a student at Southern University of New Orleans. God was preparing her heart to meet some students from the Midwest who “happened” to be on a Cru Spring retreat in New Orleans.

Abby and Danielle, two Cru students, started a conversation with Ashley and asked her about her spiritual background and journey.  She told them that she had been researching and comparing religions for the last few months, but was unsure about what is true and what is just fairy tales.  She mentioned that “the list of things it seems like I need to do to become God’s child just keeps getting longer.”

Danielle explained to her that becoming a child of God isn’t about what we can do to earn good standing with Him, but it is Jesus’ death and resurrection that pays for our sin and allows us to receive forgiveness and be born again as a child of God.  She continued by saying, “You know, what Jesus is inviting us to is not rules, but a relationship. You can become His child by putting your faith in Jesus and what He did for you.  Does that sound like what your heart desires?”  Ashley got a huge smile on her face and replied “Yes!”  God is at work drawing students into a relationship with Himself!  Thank you for being such a integral part of what God is doing in the lives of students!
Thank you so much for continually praying for us.  God is at work in our ministry and our family!  You are a part of His working through your prayers and financial support.              With love,
God is so amazing!

We had the joy of celebrating Evie’s first birthday on June 13th. It was fun to recount the memory of what God did to bring her into our family:  Our reaction to the call about her birth, all the details that only God could orchestrate, how we went to meet her within hours of finding out about her, and how God clearly put it in our both of our minds what her name was to be—Evangeline Hope.

She is already a great testimony to so many people of the faithfulness of God.
Would you pray with us that she will love God and grow into the meaning of her name, “bringer of good news”?

Pray she brings the hope of Jesus to people throughout her life as she shares the Good News of the Gospel.
