Beginning on Monday 8 July, marches in Raymond Terrace and Nelson Bay will be the focal point of this year’s NAIDOC week celebrations in Port Stephens.
Port Stephens is a diverse place — full of beautiful beaches, vast sand dunes, leafy bushland and rolling green hills.
As a community, it’s just as diverse, which is why it’s so important to hear from all our residents and ratepayers on their priorities for Port Stephens.
At this week’s Council meeting, Mayor Ryan Palmer put forward a Notice of Motion to fund a list of vital projects for Port Stephens. He called on Council to source an extra $15 million in funding to deliver projects that are a priority for our community.
This month, the Mayor, Councillors and senior staff will be out and about to discuss this list of priority projects, as well as Council’s $30 million program of major projects for 2019 to 2020.
This is your opportunity to let us know whether we’re on the right track, or if you have different priority projects for Port Stephens.
The feedback we receive will be used to inform Council’s plans for the next financial year, so that we can continue to deliver value for our community.
