Pirate + Salt

Over the last three weeks, we've started our Pirate + Salt journey exploring Mark 16 and the invitation to follow the Jesus who is out ahead of us in the world, rolling away stones, stirring hope, and building courage in us for the sake of our world.

On Sunday, we spent time in the following two practices:
COMMUNAL PRAYER/LITURGY ADDRESSING THE FEAR AROUND US
PERSONAL REFLECTION/LITURGY ADDRESSING FEAR WITHIN US
Love perfected
crosses city streets
social boundaries
political borders
to love our neighbor.
Perfect Love, cast out fear!

Love perfected
sees in the eyes of
the widow, the orphan,
the stranger, the outcast
the foreigner, the refugee
the very eyes of God.
Perfect Love, cast out fear!

Immigration Crisis Circle

Local Response & Action

This past week, Open Door convened a Circle around the immigration crisis in order to discern and catalyze next steps locally in our neighborhoods.

Arising from our time together is a collaborative document filled with resources and next steps (and an open invitation to edit/add to the document) - check it out HERE

The group plans to re-convene in the coming weeks; let Dave know if you'd like to join and/or stay in the loop.
