Big fancy Mid Winter Christmas Dinner this weekend? Bag yourself a Whole Scotch Fillet, if it is too big for you to have in one sitting one of our Happy Butchers will cut it into manageable pieces. I think half a dozen Steaks and a generous Roast would be ideal for my tribe. Also Steak, Eggs and Chips is my favourite Friday night dinner.

Seasonal Tip: Look out for Christmas Crackers this week to complete your Mid Winter Christmas Party. We have two varieties, choc full of surprises.

Agria
Agria Potatoes make the best Roast Spuds. By good fortune they are on the Blackboard this week. I have posted many times about the virtues of par cooking spuds before you roast them, but if you have missed it have a look at this.

Pumpkin
Pumpkin is also a classic roasting vegetable and is a snip at just cents for a piece this week. For a super fancy side dish have a look at this Cinnamon & Sea Salt recipe from Delaney Mes.

Pork Mince
We almost never have pork Mince on the Blackboard. This Stir Fried Pork Mince looks like a healthy Wednesday night dinner. No doubt it will be good with a Beer, my recommendation is Garage Projects Can Lah, styled to match just such a dish.

Mahana Red
Keeping your fruit intake up over the Winter can be tricky. Mahana Reds are a great Apple to eat andare also a good 'all purpose' cooking Apple. This Apple and Rhubarb Crumble would be great after a big Saturday night dinner.
(BTW - the recipe calls for Granny Smiths, Mahanas Red would work just as well)

1 Free Coffee
By now, hopefully, you know that if you spend $40 or more we give you a coffee. For me it's a way of saying thanks for being a great customer and we have given away quite a few cups over the years. On Wednesday Coffee is free for all my Newsletter subscribers. Simply ask for one, no matter what you spend. There are a few rules, we can tell you about them when you get here.

Friday Drinks
I conducted some Quality Control on 'The Go Between' on the weekend and can confirm it is very nice. Get a couple of bottles to go with your big Scotch Roast on Saturday night.
