CONTRACTORS BREAKFAST
How to Win Government Business Workshop
|
|
|
Local contractors and business operators are invited to participate in East Gippsland Shire Council’s second procurement and tendering workshop – on Friday 19 July at the Bairnsdale RSL at 7.45 am to 10.30 am.
The breakfast is designed to help local contractors understand the process, and to prepare for tendering for Council works. Council spends millions of dollars annually procuring products and services.
If you're a contractor or sell products locally, this forum will equip you with the knowledge you need when going for Council or Government contracts. There will be a session on writing tenders and an opportunity for contractors to give their feedback on aspects they find challenging.
Attendees will hear from Councils Acting Director of Operations, Fiona Weigall about up-coming contract work. Councils Risk Management Coordinator to register on Councils preferred contractors register, and Councils Workplace Health and Safety Advisor, Evan Downie.
If you would like to submit a question before the forum, email us here.
Register for the workshop at Trybooking here.

Wild Dog DeFENCE Expression of Interest
This program will support the construction of 75km of wild dog and browser exclusion fencing on landholder properties affected by wild does across the East Gippsland Shire Council region.
This program will:
- Support the construction of new exclusion fences and also retrofitting existing fences in good condition to exclude pests.
- Not fully fund fences. A rebate for fence cost will be provided once fences are completed.
- Provide a rebate of $6 per metre for new fence construction and $2.50 per metre for retrofitting fences.
- Only provide fence rebates once the fence is completed and has been inspected to ensure it meets minimum standards.
- Not maintain the fence into the future. All fences constructed are the landholder's responsibility.
- Support individual property fences as well as prioritise funding to properties that wish to construct cluster fencing, where landholders construct a fence across multiple properties to extend the length of the fence as far as possible, or fully enclose multiple properties. This reduces the chance of wild dog attacks.
- If neighbours wish to construct a cluster fence each individual landholder must submit separate E01 forms.
For further information or to obtain an expression of interest form, contact Landcare at email or Phone: (03) 5152 0600.
Farm business assistance payments of up to $3,500 are also available, along with grants to improve your on farm infrastructure, more information, guidelines and application forms can be found at Rural Finance website
