We recently found out the wonderful news that Dr Carole Estabrooks' Tier 1 Canada Research Chair has been renewed for another 7 year term. This award is for research excellence and to help train the next generation of highly skilled researchers. It's a reassurance that the work we are doing matters. Carole thanks all who are involved with TREC for this success, as this award is a reflection of the efforts of the entire team. We're also happy to announce
TREC awarded CIHR Project Grant
Bring out the confetti again because we are very excited today to share the news that we have secured funding from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR)! The project, titled The Influence of Context on Implementation and Improvement, received $2,096,101 in funding. This grant will allow us to study the complex ways context and facilitation work together to impact the success of quality improvement initiatives. We congratulate the project team for their success!

We are energized after our
Annual General Meeting 2019
Every year we bring together our large team at our AGM to share stories about our successes and setbacks, and together chart a way forward. This year we met on June 20th in Edmonton. A diverse and engaged group of researchers, knowledge users, decision makers, citizens, staff, and students attended the meeting. We learned more about the future of TREC and what is in store for TREC 3.0. Yes that's right, TREC 3.0 is coming! Keynote speaker Dr. Tom Noseworthy provoked our thoughts with a talk about what it takes for a system to scale a research based innovation successfully. It was a pleasure seeing everyone, and we are already looking forward to next year and the launch of TREC 3.0!

The priorities were determined through a priority setting exercise in March which was attended by decision makers and VOICES members. We are introducing Ken Chipeniuk and Graham Bond as the new citizen co-chairs of our citizen engagement committee (VOICES). Ken and Graham will serve along with investigator co-chair Janice Keefe. We would like to thank Jim Mann, the outgoing and inaugural citizen co-chair, for his efforts and commitment to VOICES.

We recently
Presented our research in Halifax
Some of us recently traveled to Halifax to present and discuss our research at the Canadian Association for Health Services and Policy Research (CAHSPR) conference. TREC researchers Carole Estabrooks, Malcolm Doupe, Matthias Hoben, and Whitney Berta presented a panel on Insights into the lifestyle of complex interventions - 10+ years of knowledge translation. TREC postdoctoral fellow Yuting Song gave a podium presentation on Work context and missed and rushed care by care aides in long-term care homes.
