June 25, 2019

We've made it (almost) to the Fourth of July! And truly it is hard to top assistant career services director Jenn Sipe's wonderful pictures last week of her pup, Rhett.

But I did want to give a quick shout out and encouragement to read a very poignant and hear-felt and important blog post by MJ-school student Jake Lawler. This digest reaches all MJ-school students, as well as alumni and others. Many of us, students, alumni and others, either face mental health challenges ourselves or know people who are feeling the brunt of depression. There is nothing to be ashamed of and know that there are many folks out there who are behind you and want to help you. I hope you will take a few minutes to read Jake's post. I've also included a link to a story in The News & Observer about the post. (The N&O story was written by outstanding 2019 MJ alum Alex Zietlow).

I mainly want to thank Jake for his courage and hope y'all get something positive out of his thoughts.
