More exciting activities this summer with TAG!

What an awful Summer so far. Thank goodness when we met at the Think Tank in Birmingham a couple of weeks ago, it was an indoors venue, as it was certainly pouring outside. The weather didn’t stop families turning up and all seemed to enjoy themselves and meeting up with other people with Arthrogryposis Multiplex Congenita.

Meeting other AMCers is the main reason we arrange these get-togethers around the country. It enables parents of children, the children themselves, and adults, with AMC to get together and chat, compare notes and get and give advice and help to each other. We are not alone!

Barbican conservatoryI hope you see this reminder in time! The next get-together is on Sunday 30th June at The Barbican Conservatory, Silk Street, London EC2Y 8DS

It opens at midday so we shall meet at the café just after midday. The Conservatory is a beautiful haven of exotic plants and trees under cover in the centre of the Barbican complex.  There are tropical fish there too to watch. Entrance is free, and there are free blue badge spaces on site. After you have arrived you will just have to go to a box office or a reception desk to receive a complimentary car park voucher. Silk Street is the easiest access.  Please contact me on peter.lacey@virgin.net or 07989582249 to let me know you are coming or if you have any questions.

AMC Clinics

As you know we now have dedicated AMC Clinics at several hospitals where experienced TAG members can meet with you to chat about things the ‘medics’ may not be able to. This has been, and is a huge success and very gratefully received by people with AMC, as well as the consultants themselves. However, there are several large cities that we do not have any representation as there are apparently no dedicated AMC Clinics, at least not that we know of!

We are particularly interested in starting them in Leeds, Manchester, Sheffield, London, Bristol, and possibly Norwich and Southampton. If you know of any EXISTING AMC Clinics, or Consultants with a particular interest in AMC, please call Peter on 0798 958 2249 or email help@arthrogryposis.co.uk
