Welcome to this week’s e-news.

Another busy week for Constructing Excellence North East with a brilliant Construction Leadership seminar yesterday with keynote speaker Andy Mitchell CBE. Andy is CEO of Thames Tideway Tunnel and Co-Chair of the Construction Leadership Council (CLC). The Thames Tideway Tunnel is a £3.8bn project engineering a wastewater tunnel in London. We would also like to thank all our other speakers of morning including Oliver Novakovic, Technical and Innovation Director for Barratt Developments and Tom Jarman of Waterston’s for his continuous support and help in organising this event.

Next Tuesday we have ‘When the Gates Close’ with Womble Bond Dickinson. This seminar is on protecting your company from insolvency with speakers from Womble Bond Dickinson, RSM Accountants and Bibby Financial Services.
Then on Wednesday 3rd we have a Teesside University Masterplan Supper with Darren Vipond, Director of Campus Service and Jill Thompson, Deputy Director of Campus Services. Further details are below but places are going very quickly for this event so I would recommend booking your place immediately.

On Thursday 4th we have a site visit to the Rutherford Cancer Centre in Bedlington in the afternoon. We only have a few places left so please contact Grace with regard to availability.

So it’s a lovely afternoon and I look forward to catching up with some of you later this evening at the Pitcher & Piano for beer and a bite with Summers-Inman.

IC3 Workshop

IC3 would like to invite you to a workshop for leaders in digital construction at the IET in London on July 10th. This important event will help shape proposals for IC3 - an innovative international centre for connected construction in the UK.

IC3 will be hosting a workshop for senior decision makers at the Institute of Engineering and Technology in London on July 10th. We’d love it if you or another member of your team could come along to provide your input. You can sign up for the free event here.
