Collaboration is key to tackling healthcare challenges in the NHS

Collaboration, rather than competition, is a better way for the NHS and the wider health and care system to respond to today's challenges, says the Health and Social Care Committee in its report on the NHS Long-Term Plan: legislative proposals. Collaboration is a better way to manage the rising demands on health and social care, improve joined-up care for patients and deliver better value for taxpayers.

Facebook posts can help to predict medical conditions

The language used in a Facebook post can predict if a user has a certain medical condition, according to a new study. The University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine set out to research if Facebook posts could predict conditions that were already recorded in a patient’s medical record and found that Facebook language was able to predict 21 medical conditions “beyond chance.”
