1. Facebook is close to a deal to lease one million square feet of office space at 50 Hudson Yards. The company already has several office locations in the city including at 770 Broadway and 335 Madison Avenue. The far West side of Manhattan is quickly becoming the neighborhood for big tech with Amazon leasing space at 5 Manhattan West and negotiating to take over 2 Manhattan West, and Google planning to build a new campus further south in Hudson Square. 2. NYC’s Quartet, a collaborative technology platform for providing mental health services, has raised $60 million in a Series D funding. Investors included Centene Corporation, F-Prime Capital Partners, GV, Oak HC/FT and Polaris Partners. 3. NYC’s Button, a mobile commerce platform, has raised $30 million in a Series C funding. Icon Ventures led the round and was joined by Capital One Ventures, Redpoint Ventures, Norwest Venture Partners and DCM Ventures. 4. NYC’s WeWork has acquired NYC’s Waltz, developer of a mobile application that allows workers to gain access to a building via their phone. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. 5. NYC and SF-based The RealReal, an online luxury goods consignment platform, plans to raise $270 million in an IPO. The company posted revenue of $207 million and loss of $76 million in 2018. The stock is expected to start trading this Friday on the Nasdaq with the symbol “REAL”. (www.therealreal.com) (Barrons)

6. Brooklyn’s goTenna, a mobile mesh networking platform, has raised $24 million in a Series C equity and debt funding. Founders Fund led the round, and was joined by Comcast Ventures, NYC’s Union Square Ventures, Collaborative Fund, Walden VC, MentorTech, Bloomberg Beta and Silicon Valley Bank. The company’s product enables a peer-to-peer system of communications that circumvents the need for cell towers and satellites. We covered goTenna in our very first edition on March 7, 2016. 7. Inc. Magazine has profiled WeWork’s little known office design business and the space that it just built for NYC health insurance startup Oscar. WeWork also redesigned Sprint's midtown Manhattan offices last year and is designing Rent the Runway's new Brooklyn headquarters, set to open in 2020. (www.we.co) (Inc. Magazine)

8. NYC’s NewtonX, a real-time expert search engine, has raised $12 million in a Series A funding. The round was led by Two Sigma Ventures with participation from XFund, Third Prime and Switch Ventures. The company’s Expert Surveys product poses a user’s business question to a wide number of experts to obtain a variety of responses.(www.newtonx.com) (TechCrunch)

9. NYC’s Bubble, a no-code website development platform, has raised $6.25 million in a seed round funding. SignalFire and Neoled led the round which was joined by numerous high profile angel investors. The Bubble platform can be used to build and host web applications without engineers and has been used to develop 230,000 web apps. (www.bubble.io)
