How on earth have we arrived at July already? Someone, please ... slow down time!

We're delighted to update you on all that's been occurring at Footprints (and things yet to happen).

We're welcoming new funders (and fundraisers), increasing the number of children and parents, adding new sessions and working hard on spreading the word to reach those families who haven't heard about us yet.

Our staff are taking every opportunity to improve their knowledge. After training to become Conductor's Assistants, Jo, Karen, and Helena are graduating on Friday 5 July in Birmingham! Our newly qualified CAs are the first in our area, and we’re so proud of them.

Nathalie (job share manager) is also adding to her skills base by training to be a Conductor, and enjoying every minute (while still doing the day job!). The Multi-Disciplinary scheme is a new programme that allows individuals with relevant degree level qualifications working within CE Centres to train as a Conductor in their own place of work, with theoretical training in Birmingham.  Nathalie is thrilled to have this opportunity and said: "I have longed to better understand Conductive Education since the day I first walked through the door."
Remember all those emails and social media posts about the People's Projects Awards? We're pretty sure by now you'll be aware that we secured a phenomenal £50,000 donation from the National Lottery for our #thesekidsCAN project!

Not only that, we were excited to hear that we received 4,493 votes, which was fantastic. In fact, so brilliant that we came 5th out of 95 charities nationally - not regionally. Our mum, Lucie, ran a great campaign for us (matched by your enthusiasm) and the number of shares on social media was just incredible!

Thank you for voting and sharing. Naturally, we'll keep you updated on progress - this is such a fabulous opportunity to reach families who would otherwise not have access to Conductive Education. We'll be offering home visits as well.
New referrals...

It's been a busy few weeks for new referrals and Erika and the team are currently inviting families in for a consultation.

This is a very warm welcome to Nova, Ivy, George, Shye, Ackley, Alex, and Inaaya (and their parents) who have already joined our groups!
Holidays ...

Mums and dads, we're trying to collate details of our families' holida
y times so that we can manage absences. Please, would you let your child's key-worker know if you plan to be away from your regular sessions over the holiday period? If you could, it would be a massive help.Thank you.
Online Survey

The funds we receive from  BBC Children in Need help towards the cost of running our pre-school and Gym Club sessions, and a condition of receiving these funds is that we provide an annual report around the differences our services make to the children attending Footprints (vital in meeting the requirements of our Grant), so it's that time of year mums and dads, and we would appreciate it very much if you could respond to our
online survey (there are paper copies at Footprints if you are unable to get online).

Comments like those below may also benefit
other parents searching for help for their child (and maybe support for themselves too).

"I love the support R has from everyone at Footprints CEC. I love that anything I ask is always met with support and understanding, not just from staff but from parents too. I feel that I have made life-long friends."
"Sometimes it can be hard to motivate R. The staff are always ready to try new things and completely let him take the lead in what he wants to do so he doesn’t realise that he is learning, making it less stressful for me."

Details of all events can be found on our website or, if you're on Facebook, you'll find information on our new Events and Information page here (it says Footprints Superheroes Ball but we're rectifying that!)

The Superheroes Ball on 18 May was absolutely brilliant and we can't thank everyone enough for supporting our event. There were 250 enthusiastic guests all keen to get the party started, and were dancing before the food came out! Thanks to the ever fabulous Des Coleman for being a fantastic MC and auctioneer, Stonewall Jackson Soul Band, and James Brown, our man behind the disco! As always, extending gratitude to our Ball committee, Wendy at Ovy Designs, Kate at Midland Regional Printers, Becky Sheeran, Filip from Stage Connections, Jude Winwood, Vanity Room Bingham, FREETHS Solicitors, Chris from Wittypics, all our volunteers, donors, bidders and guests.
The Park Garden Trail on 23 June was lovely - the weather was kind, the gardens were stunning, and with thousands of visitors, it was very busy!  Thank you so much for supporting our charity once again PGT.

Another fantastic event was the Masonic Children's Fun Day at Bestwood Country Park, Fire service HQ, on Sunday 15 June. Lots of families attended and had the best time. Thanks so much Nottinghamshire Masons, you went above and beyond to make it such a wonderful event for all the families attending.

Spotted ... on numbers 1 , 6, 57, 79, 100, the Park & Ride and others! Have you seen our advert on the buses? Please, let us know.

Thank you so much Anthony Carver-Smith, for helping us promote Footprints on Nottingham City Transport buses, it's been a great marketing exercise!
We were invited to submit an article to an online blog called Psychreg (they publish mental health stories and  host events). It was a great opportunity to talk about the benefits of Conductive Education with a group of people who otherwise may not have heard about it.

The article has been viewed 324 times so far! Thanks to our mum, Lucie, for openly
talking about the psychological effects of caring for a child with additional needs, and how the holistic approach of Conductive Education can help both child and parent.
Our fundraisers ...
During 2018/2019 we were 'adopted' by Browne Jacobson Solicitors in Nottingham - they raised a staggering £20,000+ (as well as donating a separate £2,500 for eye gaze equipment)! We are so very grateful to you all.

The cost of supporting one family per year at  Footprints is £3,300, so this funding will help us to support many more children. Thank you.

Kirsten's gone on a BIG adventure!

She joined husband, Mark, on his sabbatical and is visiting Norway, Sweden, and moving on to New Zealand. Then, over the course of two weeks, Kirsten and Mark will cycle from Vietnam through Cambodia and into Thailand, covering 377 miles!

They have set up a
Virgin Money Giving page, raising funds for Footprints as part of their challenge, so if you can help in any way, please do - we need her back in September!

Sincere thanks to the Rotary Club of Ilkeston for your generous £1,000 donation - we really are so grateful! Thanks also to Heather and John Anthony for taking the time to talk about the support our charity provides for children and parents! http://rotaryclubilkeston.co.uk/

Have you signed up to the Weather Lottery yet? It's a great way to support something special while getting the chance to win up to £25,000!

It's really easy to sign up - you will be given your numbers, then informed if you have been a lucky winner!

A cool way to support Footprints (without it costing you anything) is to register with Give as you Live - it's very easy to do and is a fantastic way to help raise funds for our charity while you are doing your online shopping!
Our volunteers come in many forms - Trustees, ambassadors, people who help with office administration and in our sessions, or help at events; those who voluntarily fundraise for us too, and we'd be lost without every single one of you!

Thanks to an amazing small charity called Room to Reward

https://www.facebook.com/roomtoreward/ we've been able to give something back to Emma, one of our mums (and a long-term volunteer who helps with office administration every Thursday), and also Lisa Fox a volunteer and ambassador -  Lisa has twice organised the Little Footprints Ball for Footprints (raising more than £30,000 to date), and she also gets involved with other activities. 'Room to Reward' brings both the charity and hospitality sectors together to provide well deserved breaks to the #hiddenheroes among us. Thank you both for all you do - enjoy your nights away! We were so pleased to nominate both Emma and Lisa, who is a dynamic ambassador for our service, and we’re delighted that they were selected. We’re already looking forward to next year’s nominations as this is such a great scheme!
We are indebted to all our supporters and funders, some of whom prefer anonymity. Your generosity and commitment helps us to help children with disabilities and their families.
Thank you.
