Les prochains jeudis marquent le début de la série de performances Au risque d'entraîner l'éveil ainsi que les interventions sur la Place Publique du Musée d'art contemporain de Montréal et du SenseLab de l'Université Concordia. Lors des performances à venir, les artistes s'inspirent du théâtre expérimental et de l'improvisation, de la radio pirate, de l'univers domestique lié au mode d'emploi IKEA ou au sentiment du chez-soi pour créer des situations insolites, situées entre le réel et le performé.

Over the coming Thursdays the beginning of the Possible Awakenings series with interventions from the Musée d'art contemporain de Montréal and Concordia University SenseLab take place on Place Publique. For the upcoming performances, the artists are inspired by experimental theatre and improvisation, pirate radio and the domestic world, as it relates to IKEA manuals or the feeling of being home, to create sometimes perplexing situations on the boundary between reality and performance.

Barbara Steinman offre une méditation philosophique sur l’espace-monument de la Grande salle, et invite les visiteurs à en arpenter le vide — à « plonger au fond du rêve » selon la formule du poète e.e. cummings, pour qui là réside la possibilité de nous situer dans le monde.

Barbara Steinman offers a philosophical meditation on the monument-space of the Main Hall, and invites visitors to survey the emptiness and, in the words e.e. cummings, "dive into dreams," for this is how we might take our place in the world.

En conjonction avec ses expositions d’été, la Fonderie Darling est heureuse de présenter dans son hall d’accueil deux œuvres en diptyque de l’artiste montréalaise Celia Perrin Sidarous, dont la résidence de trois ans au sein du programme d’Ateliers Montréalais prend fin cet été.

In conjunction with its summer exhibitions, the Darling Foundry is pleased to present in its lobby two works in diptych by Montreal artist Celia Perrin Sidarous, whose three-year residency in the Montreal studio program concludes this summer.

Sur le modèle des précédentes friches industrielles que l'organisme a réhabilitées au profit de l'art, Quartier Éphémère s'engage dans un projet innovant, porteur de nouvelles perspectives pour les artistes et pour tout un quartier, par la mise en place d’ateliers et d’une plateforme de médiation culturelle sur les anciens terrains ferroviaires de Pointe-Saint-Charles.

In line with the organization’s model of renovating brownfield sites into art spaces, Quartier Éphémère launches an innovative project that will offer new prospects to artists and to an entire neighbourhood, by creating artist studios and an education hub located in a former rail yard of Pointe-Saint-Charles.

Quartier Éphémère is again coming to the rescue of the Darling Foundry. Through the crowdfunding platform Indiegogo, the organization will ask for your help to acquire its iconic building, in order to pursue its artistic and community engagement, and to preserve a unique historical place with a remarkable architecture.
