While IBM’s Watson was taking down two of Jeopardy’s top winners in 2011, Pinaki Dasgupta was hatching plans for how to bring the AI revolution into healthcare. At Hindsait, he and his team of doctors, data wizards, and astrophysicists have developed clinical-specific natural language processing tech that’s relieving docs and nurses of mundane auditing tasks, freeing them up to get back to doing what they do best – caring for patients. Hindsait’s success serves as a barometer for AI’s potential: By 2025, cognitive computing could generate $150 billion in savings for the US healthcare industry.
