Beer Travels.
That's me, about a month ago, with a smile I've yet to erase from my face.
It's a photo that captures a moment in time, but which also represents an unforgettable week in Germany.
It was taken in a biergarten of a brewery (Weihenstephan) that's nearing its millennial anniversary. That's still hard for me to wrap my head around.
In one hand, a liter of bier (in this case, Dunkelweizen, but I also drank my share of Helles, Rauchbier, and more — all incredible). On the table, a giant pretzel. And across from me, my wife, who orchestrated the entire week-long experience, indulging my passion for beer and its rich history.
I'm very lucky.
For beer lovers, a trip to Germany — Munich, Bamberg, and Freising for us — is a must. Here are a few photos and other notes from our trip. Keep an eye on utahbeernews.com in the coming weeks for more.
Traveling Stateside
In addition to an amazing German getaway, I'll be traveling to Rhode Island next week to attend Homebrew Con 2019.
Now in its 41st year, America's largest gathering of homebrewers attracts nearly 3,000 people, offers 70+ educational sessions, and pours countless samples of homebrew (and commercial brew).
It also coincides with the world's largest homebrew competition, a contest in which several Beehive State brewers are finalists (see a list at the bottom of this newsletter).
Keep an eye on Utah Beer News social media — Facebook, Twitter, Instagram — for more from that event next week.

Currently Drinking: As I write, I'm sipping a Clear Daze Juicy IPA from Uinta Brewing Co. How about you?
Cheers,
