Important JLC Update
Dear Faithful Friends and Partners in the Gospel of Jesus Christ,

Following a season of prayer, Pastor Mikio and his family have decided to return to Japan at the beginning of August. As we have prayed in the past, for many of our faithful JLC servants returning back to the field in Japan, we will do the same for Pastor Mikio and his family. We are reminded of the following passage (our Japanese Congregation’s June 2019 memory verse);
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witness in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." Acts 1:8 (NIV)

Pastor Mikio and his family will be greatly missed.  We are most thankful for his leading and will continue to pray for ministry doors to open, when he and his family return to Japan.
God’s timing and provision are perfect! We have absolute confidence in our sovereign Lord’s hand in all matters, and also believe that in HIS time, He will provide a new Pastor for the JLC.

Thank you in advance for your prayers.

In His grace,
Manny Rocha, Senior Pastor
Don Chookaszian, Elder Chair
Yoshio Shibazaki, Elder

Hebrews 12:1-2
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off
everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with
perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and
perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame,
and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
Any competitor entering a race knows there will be training involved in order to have a
successful outcome. It would be very difficult for a runner to enter a race without any
preparation physically or mentally. There needs to be a healthy regimen with plenty of
practice to equip for the event. One must “throw off everything that hinders” them and
anything that may “easily entangle” them or trip them up from their main goal. A runner
does not wear heavy clothing or any gear that may weigh them down. Runners are
focused on the final prize!
Similarly, the Christian life can be seen as such. When we keep our eyes fixed on
Jesus by removing anything that weighs us down such as worry, fear, etc. and
eliminating every sin that entangles us or stunts our spiritual growth, we can persevere
in the “race marked out for us.”
Is there anything you need to eliminate that is weighing you down?

Ministry Enhancement Plan
Ministry Enhancement Plan

How Does The Ministry Enhancement Fit Into Our 3-Year Vision?
Cornerstone, in the next three years, will create a culture that inspires Christ-like believers whose lives reveal God’s goodness and equips mature leaders who multiply to impact our community and beyond. We will strive to develop strong leadership while further equipping our saints for the works of service. Our ministry enhancements are tools that will assist us in our journey to disciple our own and reach the lost. We want to utilize our facility in the most efficient manner. Repurposing rooms helps people make better connections. Additionally, an expanded foyer encourages people to make personal connections within the congregation. First-time visitors and newcomers will have a welcoming atmosphere to meet others.
For complete information and to participate in the Ministry Enhancement Plan with your much-appreciated donation, please visit the Cornerstone Website and click on Give/Building Fund. Please note that giving envelopes labeled "Ministry Enhancement - Building Fund" are available and may be found inside the friendship folder in the Worship Center pews or at the Welcome Center.
