Lots of you are interested in having a say in the programming for the coming year, which is fantastic! The dancing evenings is what draws us to folk dancing in Burnaby - it is important to get it right!
We will be meeting to discuss programming for the 2019-20 season on July 2 at 7pm. Location to be determined. Please come if you are interested in influencing the program! You do not need to be able to teach dances to help with the program.

Upcoming Events:
- BIFD Planning Meeting, Tuesday, July 2, 7pm. Location to be determined.
- Stanley Park dancing, Tuesdays, 7 to 9:30pm until August 20 (no dancing July 2nd and August 6th). Weather permitting. In Ceperley Meadow, Stanley Park (Past the tennis courts, across from the Pitch and Putt, and near Second Beach). Hosted by VIFD. Request dancing 7-7:30. Teaching begins at 7:30. Open to everyone, all ages, all skill levels. No previous experience necessary. We teach very easy dances from many countries. And, best of all – it’s FREE!
- SIFD Summer BBQ on Sunday, August 11, 3pm-10pm, at Don's farm, 25133 0 Ave, Aldergrove. Walk around the farm, dancing, then pot-luck dinner/BBQ, followed by more dancing! Save the date!
- Surrey International Folk Dancers' Folk Dance Retreat, Sept 20-22, 2019, at Camp Alexandra. See surreyfolkdance.org/retreat-2019 for more details. Registration is open.
- BIFD 40th Anniversary Potluck Dinner and Folk Dancing Party, Saturday, October 5, 2019, (5 - 10pm) Charles Rummel Community Centre, 3630 Lozells Ave, Burnaby. Save the date!

BIFD Community Performances/Teaching
- Performance rehearsals are every Saturday, 10am, in Burnaby Arts Council basement, 6584 Deer Lake Ave, Burnaby. Everyone welcome.
- 7 August, Wednesday, from 8:15 to 9:00 we will perform at Kitsilano Showboat, 2300 Cornwall, Vancouver. We will perform and teach.
