From time to time we find ourselves in the Medical World
It can be confusing - the language used is medical Latin intimidating to anyone,  we also come up against figures highly respected in society Doctors - Surgeons - Specialists.

They are Medical professionals we are asking for advice, diagnosis and help.  You can also add bureaucracy in the Hospital and Medical Centres.   A formidable situation that is daunting, intimidating, confusing, dis-empowering - when you just want to be well and go home.

You can give yourself over to that system and hope for the best - many people do. That's OK

Today we are talking about someone who took charge of their healing process and challenged the system in a polite, professional and resolute manner. Not for the faint hearted!

Dr Sherene Suchy is one such person and when faced with a serious medical condition gathered around her a range of health professionals and people to support her. Sherene took an active role in determining how she wanted to be treated with a great emphasis on keeping her immune system healthy.




 
Sherene challenged the lack of communication between Doctors & Specialists (not reading the medical file properly) and made sure all members of her medical team were updated on progress and actions taken.

Her book Bamboozled- Trek guide for clients & experts in Medicine  is a helpful guide to that journey. Especially important to people with a serious medical condition that involves potential surgery and drug treatment.

In essence the book is about how to retain your power of choice & dignity as a human being when faced with such a serious situation.

It covers how to gather around you a team of people who are working on your health in cooperation with you rather than DOING things to you. 

The results from her approach confounded the Medical profession hence the books title bamboozled (a word one of her Doctors used)

Steady progress to report -  Final editing is underway of the information package and I am writing content for the new Website.

Nothing stands still and there is more great material coming to hand that may have to be included in the next update.

One coup has been to purchase the domain name menieres.com.au for the website. It has not been constructed yet so if you are googling you will hit a blank.
