"And don't think the garden loses it's ecstasy in winter.
It's quiet, but the roots are down there riotous" - Rumi
Isn't that quote from Rumi beautiful, and so true?  Gardens are alive all year long - even in winter. What are the things you love about this time of year? Brisk morning air, daffodils, sparkling raindrops, woodsmoke from open fires, and cozy blankets. It is a magical time of year.

While we may not be physically as active in the garden right now, there’s still a lot to be done. Like reflecting on this past year and making plans for spring.  Maybe for you winter is a good time to talk to a garden designer. Our own designer, Howard would be more than happy to assist!

The more active among us will rug up, sharpen our secateurs and head outside. There’s pruning to be done, stone fruit to be sprayed, weeds to be pulled and winter veggies to plant.

So for those of you tucked inside dreaming of romantic perennial beds, or for those determined to brave the elements, we can help you love your garden over winter.

- From the team at Town and Country Gardens.

Gardens are a great place for pet adventures! Having an enriching environment to spend time in can increase your pet’s wellbeing. Who doesn’t love watching a dog scooting around chasing a ball on a lawn?

As garden owners though, we don’t always want our pets to have too much fun! We hear many stories of dogs eating plants that aren't good for them, nosing through the mulch in garden beds, digging holes for bones and flattening precious flowers.

Here are a few things to think about when planning a safe and happy garden for your furry friend.

Winter in the garden is a joyful time. It's quieter, the air is fresher, not to mention it's less sweaty when undergoing physical tasks like digging!
Pruning fruit trees, cutting back herbaceous perennials such as salvias, and fertilising annuals are some of the jobs to keep you busy now.
