CVAC Classroom Arts Program
CVAC is bringing local artists into the classroom in a new program beginning in September. With support from Cowichan Valley School District 79, catalogues will be printed and distributed to schools. The catalogues will have listings of artists available to present special sessions to elementary and secondary grades. The visits can be on literary and visual arts topics, and CVAC will pay for the visits ($50 per session). If you would like to participate in the Classroom Arts Program, contact CVAC and send a 250-word description of your focus (colour theory, collage, sculpting, etc.) and what grade level it is suitable for to: cvartscouncil@shaw.ca. If you speak French, mention that as a session would be good for French immersion students. You can send more than one listing.
Deadline for the Fall 2019 catalogue is July 31.

Presented by the Cowichan Valley Public Art Gallery Society
In her poignantly moving work, photographer and curator of The Suitcase Project Kayla Isomura explores how the legacy of displacement has shaped fourth- and fifth- generation descendants of Japanese-Canadian and Japanese- American citizens torn from their homes during World War II.
The Cowichan Public Art Gallery Society (CV-PAG) presents this exhibit, and a series of public events, in collaboration with Cowichan Intercultural Society and Immigrant Welcome Centre, and the Cowichan Valley Museum and Archives.
