FIVE PIMA COUNTY PROSECUTORS HONORED
WITH STATEWIDE AWARDS


 

Tucson, Arizona – Barbara LaWall, Pima County Attorney, is pleased to announce that five prosecutors from her Office were honored on Thursday, June 20, 2019, by the Arizona Prosecuting Attorneys Advisory Council (APAAC) at its annual conference in Phoenix.

 

Nicol Green and Tracy Miller were named APAAC’s 2019 Felony Prosecutors of the Year. The Felony Prosecutor of the Year Award is given annually to prosecutors who have demonstrated exceptional performance as a prosecutor. “Nicol and Tracy absolutely deserve this award for their unrelenting pursuit of justice as they hold defendants accountable” said Pima County Attorney Barbara LaWall.

 

Victoria Otto received APAAC’s 2019 David R White Excellence in Victim Advocacy Award. This award recognizes an individual who has provided exceptional support to victims, providing them with justice and empowerment. LaWall said: “Vicki is a stalwart champion for victims of violent crime, domestic violence, sexual assault, and child sex crimes and truly deserves this award.”

 

Amelia Cramer received APAAC’s 2019 Guardians of Freedom Award. The Guardians of Freedom Award is presented to a prosecutor who throughout his or her career has continuously exemplified the ideals of Gerda and Kurt Klein. LaWall said: “Amelia is totally committed to speaking out against injustice and she has helped to expose, eliminate, and prevent all forms of discrimination wherever it appears throughout her career.”

 

Bruce Chalk received APAAC’s 2019 Lifetime Achievement Award. Bruce has been a prosecutor for 25 years. Over the years, Bruce has become a widely recognized expert in the field of DUI and vehicular homicide prosecution and he helped develop the Pima County Superior Court Mental Health Court.  LaWall said: “Bruce has dedicated his career to the pursuit of justice and public safety and is most deserving of this award.”

 

LaWall further said, “I am very pleased that APAAC has honored some of the finest prosecutors in my office. The work they do, their commitment to victims, and their pursuit of justice is unparalleled. I appreciate everything they do, not only for the Office but also for the residents of Pima County.”
