July 2019

It has been a busy summer for public consultation, looking back as we move toward Labour Day and back-to-work. July and August have introduced a range of new topics across North America, A few of them are highlighted here.  In addition to new topics, PlaceSpeak has added new staff and released some new features, with more on the way coming this Fall.

We welcome back Environment Climate Change Canada (ECCC) who are working on a cross-border consultation for Lake Erie. We also have Sonoma County, CA engaging on their 2050 Transportation Plan. Check that out in our Customer Success section. We continue to see municipalities using PlaceSpeak to consult on community improvement plans, including the Town of Lakeshore’s Lighthouse Cove Secondary and Community Improvement Plan and the Shawnigan Lakes Park Playgrounds Review.

PlaceSpeak’s featured tool is something that will improve community connection. Check out our Neighbourhoods Feature.  PlaceSpeak recommends this to encourage more participation on your future consultations. If you want to get started, send us an email with your Neighbourhood GIS polygon and we are happy to integrate it. Don’t have one? Not a problem, email us your neighbourhood boundaries and we can work together to make it happen.
