Can you believe it is the first day of summer!  That also means that this next week is my last full week of work until the Fall.

Finding people who care about your career and your success is huge.  The value that relationship can bring to you is priceless.  But how do we do it?

Networking.  

With people you know and people you don't.  I know you probably think that networking is more about finding a job or meeting people at networking events.  But there is so much  more to it.  It is more about building relationships and getting people to care about you.  If they care about you then they will become INVESTED in your career and want you to succeed.  They will want to help you in anyway they can - advocate for you within their own network, introduce you to people, give you advice, maybe even hire or promote you.

To do that you need to:
1. Ask them questions - about themselves, about their work.
2. Talk about yourself, have a compelling elevator pitch that MATTERS to them.
3. Ask them for advice!  
4. Keep in Touch!
