This is a free 6-hour experiential workshop--facilitated by The Sum. Participants will have the opportunity to self-reflect and interact with one another, within a variety of structures and models, to develop greater internal clarity, empowerment, and better alignment between intention and impact...across our differences of race, culture, religion, socio-economic class, gender, ethnicity, and sexual orientation for just and joyful lives and organizations. Register (for free) here.

West Haven Community Day - Participation and Contribution

Saturday, August 3, 2019
Westhaven Community Day has become a pillar of strength in the Charlottesville community by bringing individuals, families and organizations together each year. Residents from all surrounding neighborhoods are invited to a day of family fun and activities along with music, food, two-on-two basketball competition, face painting, moon bounce, dunking booth, popcorn, snow cones, and bingo. We also have 60 vendors and exhibitors, free sports physicals, free blood pressure screenings, and free HIV and Hep C testing. For more information and ways you can financially support this day, please read this letter by Sharon King, administrator for Public Housing Association of Residents (PHAR).
 

SAVE THE DATE: Back-to-School Bash!

Saturday, August 17, 10:30 am to 12:00 noon, Sprint Pavilion
The Bash provides school supplies and backpacks for up to 1200 local youth. This initiative is funded with private donations large and small. It costs $25.00 to supply one student with grade-specific supplies and a stylish backpack. Go to their website to Donate and Volunteer.
