In recent months, great strides have been made in developing new guidance on deforestation-free commitments and securing funding to protect the Peruvian Amazon. As we look ahead to the coming months, WWF is pleased to announce that on 1st July, Will Baldwin-Cantello, will take on the role as interim Forest Practice Lead. Alistair Monument, current Forest Practice Lead, will transition to the role of Conservation Impact Director, Asia Pacific.

Long-term funding to protect the Peruvian Amazon is secured

Almost 17 million hectares will be protected under Patrimonio Natural del Perú (National Parks: Peru’s Natural Legacy), a cutting-edge initiative to promote sustainable development and create financial sustainability for the country's entire national protected areas system.
