Houthi landmines: A tool of terrorism in Yemen

Writing in The Defense Post, Yemen Minister of Information Moamar Al-Eryani called for the Houthis to be held accountable for their use of landmines.

The international humanitarian organization Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders) reported that in a single hospital in the city of Mocha during the final months of 2018, more than 150 landmine victims were treated; a third of those victims were children.

Al-Eryani told a media roundtable in Washington this week that the Houthis were also recruiting child soldiers, claiming that some 50,000 children had been pressed into service over the last three months.
