Video Editors (Ongoing)
Work from home!
We are looking for volunteer video editors who can occasionally help us put together short promotional or informational videos from time to time. Experience with footage from GoPro cameras would be ideal. Contact us if you’re interested!

Database Assistant
Half or full day per week
# volunteers needed: 1 - 2

Looking for someone who can come in on a regular basis to assist with entering information in our database (Salesforce), adjusting database entries and preparing donation receipts. It might not sound glamourous, but this is hugely important work that also gives you a chance to meet and work with our staff and be part of our fun office environment. If you are detail oriented and enjoy data entry, contact us!

Water Sample Chauffeur (3 Months)
1-3 hours a week

Be a chauffeur for our water quality samples! Transport recreational water quality samples from Parc Moussette to the Ottawa Riverkeeper office, and if you like, complete the E.coli analysis using our new IDEXX machine! Sign up here!

Turtle data researcher
3 hours a week
# volunteers needed: 1

Want to use your knowledge of our watershed's turtles to help these threatened reptiles? Friends of Petrie Island is looking for a researcher, experienced with collecting and organising data, to help categorise and analyse 30 years of data collected about turtles on Petrie Island so these populations can be better understood. Contact us if you're interested.

Turtle Count
1 hour a week
# volunteers needed: 2

Interested in participating in data collection about turtles? Don't mind getting out early in the morning or later in the evening? Friends of Petrie Island is looking for volunteers who are willing to help collect turtle population data at Petrie Island. Knowledge of turtles not necessary. Contact us if you're interested.
Swim Guide

Spend a day at the beach! Come volunteer with Ottawa Riverkeeper staff to educate beach-goers about Swim Guide, our app that helps you find your closest beaches and know which ones are safe for swimming. Beach days will be held during the first 2 weeks of July. For more information, contact mwilliamson@ottawariverkeeper.ca

Shoreline Cleanups
We have several shoreline cleanups coming up, and we need a few volunteers to help set up and run them, and lots of volunteers to participate in the cleanups!

Send us an email if you're interested in being a volunteer or participant for any of the cleanups below!
A huge thank you to our Gala Volunteers!
A big thank you to everyone who helped make this year's event a success! It was a magical evening that raised a record-breaking $303,000! Whether you volunteered for the months of gala planning, or were one of the 50 volunteers who helped make the night happen on May 29th, we really appreciate your support and dedication to protecting the Ottawa River and ensuring a swimmable, drinkable, fishable watershed for everyone.
Hope to see you volunteering at some of our events, or just out on the river this summer! If you have questions about how you can get involved at any time, feel free to drop me a line!
