Last month, we asked "what works in your ZIP code to promote business economic development?"
One effort you shared was the Hemp Can Do It! podcast by
Wisconsin Hemp Alliance co-founders Larry Konopacki and Kattia Jimenez via WORT-FM. They share a wealth of information about the state's pilot program and the real-life challenges faced by farmers.
Keep sending us your ideas!

And this month, our Edible-Alpha podcast features an interview with
Barnett Sporkin-Morrison of the Great Falls Montana Development Authority. Learn how the public-private partnership leverages the state’s rich agricultural history.

(BONUS: Tera Johnson, our host, was also the interview subject on a recent Making a Restaurant series for The Corner Table podcast.)
Popular success stories
Two of our Small Business Development Center (SBDC) clients have received great attention in the news and on social media this month.

Girl Wonderful was featured on TV for its products empowering women and girls.

And UW-Parkside SBDC client Nichole Mauer got 19 shares from our Facebook post to spread the word about how Mauer Home School develops children's social and emotional skills.
Tech funding

SBIR Advance is entering its sixth year of providing commercialization assistance to federal Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grant winners. The program, offered through the Center for Technology Commercialization and supported by WEDC, is offering a 14th round of funding support, with application deadlines in August. Spread the word!
