This summer I've had the opportunity to visit with the hard working Floridians that serve our community each day. Just this week I addressed the Builders Association of North Central Florida and participated in the Regional Threat Assessment Coordination Seminar hosted by Santa Fe College.

I'm fortunate to represent such a unique district that looks out for their neighbors, supports our students, and is dedicated to building an even better Florida.
Building Florida's Future
Last week I joined the Builders Association of North Central Florida to discuss how we can position Florida to be the envy of the nation in economic development and workforce education. To do this, we must continue to foster a business-friendly environment by eliminating unnecessary regulations and frivolous taxes.

This past session, we cut $10 billion in taxes while keeping over $3 billion in our reserves. Governor DeSantis just approved record funding for education, healthcare and environmental spending.

We must continue to grow our talent pipeline to fill the high-paying jobs in our community. This session I championed a measure that requires CTE schools to audit the marketplace and ensure that their course offerings align with our economy. Gainesville is on the cutting edge of this! The BANCF Apprentice Program has partnered with Santa Fe College to graduate more than 300 professionals ready to work in our community.

We need a vision for Florida that benefits all Floridians and extends further than just the next fiscal year. I am excited to work with the folks in our district to help make this a reality!
A Collaborative Approach to Public Safety
I joined Representative Chuck Clemons at the Regional Threat Assessment Coordination Seminar to discuss the importance of a more holistic approach to public safety. Educators, law enforcement officials and mental health experts stressed how crucial a collaborative effort to share information is to ensure nothing falls through the cracks.

Quick response to a crisis or violence is vital for keeping Floridians safe, but early intervention is key to preventing these incidences from happening. Florida has made significant improvements in our safety measures, but engaging with area experts is invaluable for recognizing the vulnerabilities that we still need to address. I can't thank the seminar participants enough for their dedication to Florida's safety!
It's an honor to represent you in the Florida Senate. Thank you for your continued support, input and patience as we work together to make lasting impacts in our community. I'm eager to hear from you throughout the summer so we can hit the ground running for District 8 next Session!
Sincerely,

Signature
