The date for the second part of the AGM, focusing on program planning, has been changed to Tuesday, August 6, 2019. We are currently working on where we'll meet for this meeting. The program committee wants suggestions from the membership as to how they would like the program set up (format, theme, dances, outside teachers, etc.) for the upcoming 2019/2020 season. We want to be able to make recommendations based on the suggestions presented so we can discuss them at the program planning meeting on August 6th.
Please email your suggestions by July 2 to bifd@burnabyfolkdance.org. There will be a Program Planning Committee meeting on July 2 at Netty and David’s house at 3273 Point Grey Rd, Vancouver at 7 pm. Please bring your ideas. Let us know if you are planning to attend. Email bifd@burnabyfolkdance.org.
Directions: by car is to go west on 4th Ave. up to Blenheim, turn right (North) on Blenheim and drive until Point Grey (the water) and driveway is the 1st on the left on Point Grey, no house is seen, only a driveway gate.

Folk Dance Classes at Bonsor in the Fall
Lori Larsen is teaching a beginner folk dance class again at the Bonsor 55+ Centre from September, 2019 to November 23, 2019. The class takes place on Saturday morning at the Bonsor 55+ Centre from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM.

BIFD Community Performances/Teaching
- Performance rehearsals are every Saturday, 10am, in Burnaby Arts Council basement, 6584 Deer Lake Ave, Burnaby. Everyone welcome.
- BIFD Performance at Greek Summerfest for Saturday, 13 July from 12:30 to 1:00. (Boundary @ 29th Avenue)
- 7 August, Wednesday, from 8:15 to 9:00 we will perform at Kitsilano Showboat, 2300 Cornwall, Vancouver. We will perform and teach.

- BIFD General Meeting focusing on program planning, Tuesday, August 6, 7pm. Location to be determined.
- Stanley Park dancing, Tuesdays, 7 to 9:30pm until August 20 (no dancing July 2nd and August 6th). Weather permitting. In Ceperley Meadow, Stanley Park (Past the tennis courts, across from the Pitch and Putt, and near Second Beach). Hosted by VIFD. Request dancing 7-7:30. Teaching begins at 7:30. Open to everyone, all ages, all skill levels. No previous experience necessary. We teach very easy dances from many countries. And, best of all – it’s FREE!
- SIFD Summer BBQ on Sunday, August 11, 3pm-10pm, at Don's farm, 25133 0 Ave, Aldergrove. Walk around the farm, dancing, then pot-luck dinner/BBQ, followed by more dancing! Save the date!
- Surrey International Folk Dancers' Folk Dance Retreat, Sept 20-22, 2019, at Camp Alexandra. See surreyfolkdance.org/retreat-2019 for more details. Registration is open.
