Thank you for your interest in volunteering!

National Volunteer Week celebrates the collective contribution of the 1.2 million volunteers who enrich Aotearoa New Zealand. This year’s theme, chosen by Volunteering New Zealand, is “Whiria te tangata – weaving the people together”.

As we wrap up for this year we hope you've enjoyed the local media coverage and encourage you to take a look at the roles below and join the the hundreds of volunteers who contribute so much to our communities. Whether supporting others, improving the environment, campaigning, fundraising, responding to emergencies or facilitating sports or community events, volunteers like you are crucial to keeping our communities strong, connected and vibrant.

Every month we keep volunteers like you up date with organisations seeking volunteers across the region. For each role we give you a snippet of info to tease your tastebuds.

For full details, click the image and you'll be taken through to the full role description where you can 'fill in an application'. This doesn't commit you to volunteering, think of it like an expression of interest and a way of connecting with organisations you want to find out about. Some roles will take you to their Facebook page or website where you can sign up directly - or just call us if you need help!

If you can't find what you are looking for here, you can check out our regional online database and The Wanaka App  and The Central App where we add new roles as they crop up in their community/jobs section. Keep an eye our in The News also where we have a column sponsored by the fabulous Affleck O'Meara Accounting Superheroes. We also love meeting face to face for a chat about volunteering opportunities!

Thanks to the Wanaka and Central App and Affleck O'Meara, for helping us raise awareness of volunteering and connecting you to more roles.
