It's back to school time! See our exciting offerings at College of Marin, CareerPoint and other Marin locations. September is typically when new iPhones are released - and with it new iOS updates. We have classes and workshops on how (and when to update).  TIP: wait at least a month to update your iOS and make sure you have a good, recent backup first. Wireless Charging

Charging your devices can be a bit of a hassle. Cords can get tangled easily, or sometimes an outlet is hard to access. Luckily, wireless charging is becoming more and more popular in the technology world!

Wireless chargers are small plates or circular pieces that power your smartphone or tablet. Sometimes you can even find them installed in cars! If you have an Apple Watch or iPhone 8, X, XR, XS, or XS Max, your mobile phone is eligible for wireless charging!  Also most Samsung and Google smartphones are compatible with wireless chargers. Companies such as Belkin and Mophie sell chargers for both Android and iPhone online (and in some tech stores) for as low as $30.

While wireless chargers are still a growing concept, they are definitely becoming more widely used! For more information on wireless chargers, check out the Belkin article by clicking on this link: https://www.belkin.com/us/resource-center/wireless-charging

What's New in iOS?

In the fall (typically September/October), Apple will introduce new phones and a new operating system: iOS 13.0! The software on your iPhones and iPads changes with each iOS update. We are here to help you discover the latest and greatest on your Apple device!

Join us to learn how to safely update to the new release -- and how to use the new features. Features include a Dark Mode, a Find My app, a highly revamped Photos app, new Siri voice, updated privacy features, new street-level view for Maps, and more! This class is a great way to familiarize yourself to these new iOS details if you are comfortable with the iPhone/iPad, and is a straightforward introduction to Apple devices if you are not.
