Dearest Friends,
What a tremendously FULL week this has been! We were blessed to welcome 40 children into our church space this week, sharing with them the message of God's abundant love.
Some children are from our congregation, others from a wide array of churches in the Valley, and for some children, this was their first introduction to Jesus - talk about an immersion experience! It brought me so much joy this week to see the children and their leaders growing together in love and community through song, story, games, art, and play. These experiences last a lifetime and are a crucial part of a child's development as a disciple of Jesus.
In addition to the children, we also have youth and young adult leaders who are being stretched in new ways, learning how to live out their own calls as disciples in this ministry of teaching and sharing - don't forget to pray for Virginia, Thea, Dakota, and Phoenix (Camp Coordinators) and our youth for the week: Francis, Renee, and Koome.
Thanks to everyone who has had a hand in supporting our camp program - snack makers, money givers, pray-ers, and hands-on helpers.
Peace and Blessings,
The Rev. Ingrid Brown
PS: Don't Forget!
This Sunday July 14th will be the kick-off to our “St. George’s Summer of Play” with a sermon series “Storybooks and Scripture”. Be sure to attend for lively music, thought-provoking preaching, and loving community as we offer St. George’s hospitality to our friends from Summer Day Camp, Comox United Church, and Comox Valley Presbyterian Church.
