We (meaning EDS as a whole) were as happy as anything to be shortlisted with the likes of the trailblazing Vinoteca, the exacting Tate and the illustrious Ritz for the 2019 award.
To win, as we did on Tuesday night, is a proper thrill. And for us rural hicks to head to London to pick up a gong against our more sophisticated urban counterparts is a tribute to the knowledge and good taste of our wine team.
We've always banged the drum for the importance of wine within the whole experience of eating out. In an ever more disorientating world, remembering the simplicity of food, wine and good company seems to us to be our raison d'être. Please join us soon to enjoy all three.
