Global Fund Country Team mission visit to Malawi
Global fund country team mission held comprehensive meetings in Malawi, the meetings were held from the 11th to 29th of June, 2019. Several GF mission team representative were engaged in high level meetings with the stakeholders representing various constituencies in Malawi. In particular the mission held engagement meeting with CSOs forum representative at MANASO Secretariat.

The global fund mission team representative (Mr. Emmanuel) engaging with some of Malawi CSO forum representatives.
The participants discussed the following main agenda in regards to GF and number of activities that are being conducted in country.
  1. Program reviews
  2. Supply chain integration and launch
  3. Partnership dialogue with all stakeholders
  4. Thematic conversation (AGYW, Key pops)
  5. M&E (Data collection)
The reason of the GF country mission representative engagement with CSO’s forum was to have an interface on how CSO’s can be helped and how they (GF) can come in and advocate on the CSOs behalf.
CSO’s were requested to participate in the in the supply chain issues so that they understand policy issues and advocate for the same (donation policy around commodities, waste, expiry policies) and help in strengthening pharmaceutical vigilance systems.  The mission team representative also asked and recommended that CSOs should be a part of steering committees in various platforms working on GF processes. Furthermore, CSOs were also informed to have representatives in the M&E meetings that were scheduled by the GF mission team. The forum agreed that the representative siting in this spaces should have clearly set criteria of giving feed back to the entire forum.
ACTION POINTS
  • CSO representatives to be selected and participate in the M&E and Supply Chain meetings scheduled next week and feed back to the larger group later.
  • CSO to participate in the debriefing meeting.
