We're so grateful to each of you that have joined us on this journey, we could not do what we do without your support and encouragement!
Congratulations to the graduates of the second Tools for Success class!

Meet Ella and Copeland, both were referred to our program through their high schools. Classes were held at the Yanmar EVO Center with Kimberly Johnson as the lead instructor. Each day was filled with volunteers from the community sharing their knowledge and personal work experience. We asked both Copeland and Ella what their thoughts were on the Tools for Success program. Copeland stated "I found their insight to real life situations extremely useful." While Ella shared "I learned more about how to act in the workplace, and I enjoyed making connections with the speakers." Both Ella and Copeland will join the Universal Alloy Corporation team, Copeland as a Electrical Trainee and Ella as an Administrative Intern. We are excited about the futures these two have ahead of them. Each was also paired with a mentor that will offer them support as they start their careers.
Thank You Volunteers!
We are so grateful for all of the volunteers that took their time to invest in our graduates.

Haiti Project 2019

Matiak Foundation will be kicking off fundraising efforts for Haiti this month! When our team was in Haiti last November we asked the New Missions team what we as an organization could do that would make a longer, lasting impact on the students that they serve. They immediately answered us with “We need to build each school a kitchen!”.  In lieu of the shoebox drive this year Matiak Foundation has decided to help raise funds for New School Kitchens! Three different schools have been identified and each new kitchen costs $22,000. New Missions currently has 30 schools in Haiti with an attendance of 9,068 students and they serve 2 million meals each year during the school day. The current kitchen conditions are primitive at best, some are just an open camp fire, while some are under a make shift covering.
We are asking our community to help us raise funds for at least one of these schools that they’ve identified at a cost of $22,000.

There are also items that can be sponsored:

Roof: $8,000
Paint: $2,000
Propane Stove: $300
Doors: $280
Metal bars for windows: $220

All materials are purchased in Haiti to help stimulate their economy and a majority of the work is done by Haitians which puts people to work.
