Join the Countywide Community Revitalization Team (CCRT)
Hosted by the Office of Community Revitalization (OCR) Tuesday, July 16
6 p.m. Vista Center: 2300 N. Jog Road, West Palm Beach
The meeting will focus on “Learning How to Escape a Sinking Vehicle.” Guest speaker is Anna Stewart with the Drowning Prevention Coalition of Palm Beach County.
Over 400 square miles (about 20 percent) of Palm Beach County’s total area is covered by water. With lakes, ponds and canals particularly prevalent along our county roadways, drowning incidents involving motor vehicle crashes are quite common. Practical information along with relevant videos and audience participation will be offered to educate the community about this life-threatening issue.
This public meeting will also be an opportunity to network with county agencies, OCR partners, and other community leaders who, like yourself, are making a difference in their community.
For more information, please contact Houston Tate at 233-5303 or via email at htate@pbcgov.org.

The meeting will be held Wednesday, July 24
6:30 p.m. Vista Center: 2300 North Jog Road, West Palm Beach
During this meeting, members of the public will hear about Animal Care and Control's mission, vision, objectives, history of operations, and present day operational needs and challenges.
Commissioner Weiss presented a proclamation to Douglas Crane, Library Director during the Palm Beach County Library System’s Summer Reading Program, where children and teens are sharing their love for reading at 17 locations, including the bookmobile, with a variety of activities and events.
Children, young and old are drawn to stories and books to help them explore the world around them, to learn right and wrong, and to discover the bonds of friendship and family.
The presentation was held at the Greenacres Library with Branch Manager David Scott and staff dressed in creative and colorful costumes of literature characters from books like Harry Potter.
