Dear <<First Name>>,
Chateau Ksara - The oldest and the most modern vineyard in Lebanon.
From an area steeped in vinicultural history, from the Ottoman rule to the Roman temple of Bacchus in Baalbek nearby and the iconic subterranean caves perfect for storing wine, wine-making was indeed permitted over the centuries as long as it was for religious purposes. This tradition was continued through the Jesuits’ purchase of the property in the mid-19th century and their successful expansion and development of the enterprise. By order of the Vatican, however, such a commercial property had to be sold off to a private company in the 1970’s, whence it has gone from strength to strength.
