Hello fellow bibliophile :)

So I recently finished “Notes to Self” by Irish author Emilie Pine and it changed me. The book is a collection of deeply personal essays that are despairing and hopeful at the same time.

Emilie gives a courageous account about the pains of being human - from having to care for a sick parent to violence against the self and menopause. Be prepared to deal with a range of complex emotions that will undoubtedly surface while reading this.

The second essay, in particular, is very touching as it deals with the grief of infertility - this, is good to point out, might be triggering for women trying to get pregnant. Emilie's writing is intimate and utterly real. It will change you too.

a spectacularly sad ending

My first book, “a spectacularly sad ending”, is a collection of poetry and prose about heartbreak, loss and survival. It chronicles experiences of love, loss, abuse and grief, and is for anyone who is or ever had to mend a broken heart. It's available as a paperback and also on Kindle.
